Drop-in bathroom sinks, also called self-rimming, have a rolled and finished rim, or protruding edge, that sits above the countertop and overhangs the hole in the counter, keeping the sink in place. These counter-mounted sinks have an opening for drainage and may have additional holes in the deck or splash for faucets and handles. Drop-in bathroom sinks without faucets are used in residential and commercial settings such as apartments, health care centers, and restaurants.
